You order a book from a leading female author and we will deliver it to your go-getting friend with a handwritten personalised card and beautiful gift wrapping. It is kind of like sending a bouquet of flowers but better, because books are the gift that just keep giving!
Tell Her was founded by our Chief Book Officer, Carly Shearman.
She loved the feeling of giving (and receiving) flowers - the personal touch of a handwritten card, the beautiful wrapping and not to mention, it is such a simple way of telling someone that you are thinking of them.
But after a week or so the flowers wilt and, for the most part, that beautiful, thoughtful and expensive gift (side note: can we talk about how $$$$ flowers are?!) ends up going in landfill and causing all sorts of problems for our planet.
Something else Carly noticed was that she loved gifting books to the go-getting women in her life; books that had helped her and that she had enjoyed, particularly when it came to professional development, productivity, mindset and business stories.
And that is how the idea of Tell Her was born. A book gifting service for go-getting women.
Instead of sending your girlfriend, mentor, colleague or special lady in your life flowers which will die in a week, you order a book from a female author that will be delivered with a handwritten, personalised card and beautiful gift wrapping.

Our founder and Chief Book Officer, Carly Shearman, wears a few hats which is enabled by her caffeine addiction. She has two day jobs (because apparently one wasn't enough); as the Community Manager at Women in Digital and as a Technical Consultant at Digital Talent Co.
Carly's ultimate goal is to move to the Tintenbar or Tweed hinterland and be surrounded by books, coffee, cows and chickens... it is a great combo!
